I was raised in the DFW area and served in the U.S. Navy after high school.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Finance from UTA and my MBA from UNT, and then spent 20 years as an IT executive. After two decades in the corporate world, I wanted something that was truly mine. I was tired of working for someone else, which led me to franchising — an opportunity to build something of my own while leveraging a proven system for success.
Stratus offered an unlimited upside. I also appreciated the fact that my territory is exclusively mine — I don’t have to compete with other Stratus offices. That level of autonomy and opportunity was exactly what I was looking for.
Owning our office building has been a major milestone. It represents both financial stability and the growth of our business over time. It’s something tangible that reflects years of hard work and steady progress.
Stratus has given me confidence in my long-term financial future. Knowing that I’m building equity, not just earning income, has reshaped the way I view both business and retirement. My outlook now is one of security and control over my own success.
Cancellations are just part of the process. Instead of getting discouraged, I’ve learned to stay focused on growth and make sure we’re always outpacing terminations. It’s all about maintaining momentum.
The strength of the Master Franchise support network. You can reach out to any of them and they’re always willing to help or offer advice. That level of collaboration and openness is rare and incredibly valuable.
I love referrals because I trust my existing franchise base to only recommend people they know will represent the brand well. Experience is helpful, but attitude and integrity are even more important. Those are the qualities that lead to long-term success.
The larger offices have been my biggest source of inspiration. We strive to replicate their success, and watching what they’ve accomplished motivates us to keep improving and setting higher goals.
If you’re willing to work hard, follow the process, and be patient, you can absolutely succeed. The system works — you just have to commit to it and stay consistent.
